A Dongguan-based maker of ROS-compatible mobile-robot chassis and robotic arms sold as research/development platforms to universities and enterprise R&D teams rather than as finished end-user products. Its Tracer chassis underpins Stanford's open-source Mobile ALOHA manipulation-research project, later productized by AgileX itself as Cobot Magic. Not to be confused with the much larger, similarly named Agile Robots SE.
Funding
~$15.5M Series A (Jul 2021, RMB 100M) led by Sequoia Capital China (now HongShan) and 5Y Capital, with Vertex Ventures China and Hong Kong X Technology Fund; preceded by a 2017 angel round (RMB 4M) from Legend Star. The History of AgileX Robotics
A failed autonomous-parking-robot startup that was nearly out of money by its own founder's account, AgileX pivoted to become a maker of ROS-compatible mobile-robot chassis and robot arms sold mostly to universities and R&D labs — its Tracer platform underpins Stanford's open-source Mobile ALOHA manipulation research — while running on just two disclosed funding rounds, the more recent one now over five years old. Not to be confused with the much larger, similarly named Agile Robots SE.
